Thank you for booking James Valitchka, bestselling author of "Superheroes Don't Have Dads" for your event! Thank you for supporting James' goals of worldwide Literacy and Anti-bullying. James supports education programs which foster safe, caring & supportive schools. James does research on each event booking and prepares a unique speech for each appearance. Please email us with any information you believe is important for James to know about your event. He is a thoughtful, engaging and passionate speaker.

The rationale behind encouraging clients to pay 30 days before the event is that James is pre-booked at events until July 2009. We try to adjust and accomodate every request by pre-arranging James' schedule and making adjustments if requested. We want to be able to have James speak and read at as many worthwhile events as possible because his message enriches the lives of students, adults and communities by encouraging literacy, anti-bullying, and morally positive behaviors such as respect, responsibilty and integrity. If we do not receive confirmation and payment from one group, then we try to provide another interested organization with the same opportunity. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping James touch as many people as possible.

Below is some brief information to assist you:

Media releases can be sent and James will give interviews before,at, or after your event if you wish. Can you please email us a Jpeg copy of your press release or poster as soon as possible after it is completed?

Please email us immediately if you require pictures of James for posters or/and promotional material for your event.We will email these to you.

If James must take a flight or train to your event, you must provide the transportation by 2 airline tickets or train tickets. James must be accompanied by a chaperone as he is 13 years old.

Please note that James cannot be videotaped, with the exception of the media, without a prior licensing contract or written agreement being signed between your organization and James' organization.

James can speak to an audience of up to 40,000 people, but if the event is a school event, students must be from one school only.

Will you have a computer available for James to show slides of the books while he is reading so the audience can follow along? (Can he do it by Powerpoint?)

James uses a great deal of expressions when he reads, thus we must confirm that there will be someone available to turn the pages of the book on the computer while James reads?

James likes to stand while he speaks and reads. Will there be a podium short enough for his height, 5 feet 4 inch?

Will there be a microphone for James and a second microphone for the audience to ask questions after James' readings and speech?

Will you be providing transportation for James and an additional party of two people? (If transportation cannot be provided an additional $80 must be added to James' appearance fee.)

James is an incredibly honest, inspirational, engaging speaker. Your patrons will greatly benefit from his experience. Again, we must stress that if the even is to be videotaped, we need to be notified in advance. We have to send you a form that confirms the video will not be copied or distributed.
